Flashes of Thought is a diverse collection of personal reflections by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai. It explores the ideas, principles and experiences that have defined his leadership role in the development of Dubai and the UAE, as well as his personal journey as an Arab statesman on the world stage. The book is remarkable for its eclectic range of topics and for offering insights into Sheikh Mohammed's character as well as his leadership philosophy. Its concise chapters cover more than thirty subjects including management, creativity, risk-taking, ambition, motivation and success. Flashes of Thought was inspired by an audience dialogue session at the Government Summit in the UAE in February 2013, during which Sheikh Mohammed answered questions and spoke at length on many themes.
